Today the kids wrote wonderful, detailed and kind thank you letters to someone they know. Kids wrote to grandparents, parents, friends and teachers. Next week we are going to mail the letters so be watching in the mail!

December 5
Today we talked about how solid shapes can roll, slide and stack. The solid shapes we are learning about are sphere, pyramid, rectangular prism, cone, cylinder, cube.

Today we had a fun day. Miss Manion taught us how to draw our favorite Dr. Seuss characters. Today for specials we had music and drama.

We wrote descriptions about our Dr. Seuss characters. We used lots of adjectives to describe them. We had science and Spanish. We made patterns with Miss Manion in math.

Today we wrote in our journal about what we did over Winter Break. We made new name tags for our lockers. We all made a New Years resolution. A resolution is something that you are going to work on or practice.

Today we celebrated Ella's birthday! We made New Years hats out of our resolutions, then made our face! It was fun!

Today in art we made up a type of bird. In math we learned vocabulary next to, right, left, last, before and between. On the iPad we listened to Prince Charming, and tried to retell the story on Puppet Pals.

Today we made snowflakes for our seasonal tree. We learned about adverbs. Adverbs describe verbs. An adverb is quietly or quickly.

Today for specials we had science and spanish. In science we dissected eggs! We saw all the different parts of the egg, the albumen, chalaze, the germinal spot, the air sack, the yolk and the shell. In spanish we sang songs in spanish about spring.

Today we drew beautiful animal pictures with colored pencils. We wrote facts about them, and tomorrow we are going to write sentences about our animals. Watch out Wiki to see pictures soon!

Today we went to art. We made Mona Lisa pictures, but we all had to add something different. In literacy we learned about homophones, words that sound the same, but are spelled differently.
